Step 2: Download the “Annex 2” found in the Learning Environment in the “Activity Guide and Evaluation Rubric – Task 2 – Electromagnetic waves in bounded media” folder.
Step 3: Individually, based on the exploration performed, answer the questions proposed in the next section “Activity”.
Step 4: Individually, based on the exploration performed, solve the 3 proposed application exercises. You can share your questions in the «Task 2» forum or in the groups generated by the tutor (Teams, WhatsApp, etc.).
Step 5: Create a video of maximum 5 minutes, where you conceptually explain the procedure and the meaning of the results obtained in the development of any of the exercises developed.

 

Exercise:
For the development of the following exercises, note that 𝐺𝐺 corresponds to the group number and 𝐶𝐶𝐶 to the last 3 digits of the identification number.
1. An electromagnetic wave of 𝑓 = 𝐺𝐺 𝑀𝐻𝑧 and 𝑃1+ = 100𝑚𝑊/𝑚2 travels through the air (𝜂1 = 120𝜋 𝛺 ≅ 377𝛺) and collides perpendicularly on a plane wall of intrinsic impedance 𝜂2 = (𝐶𝐶𝐶 + 10)𝛺. Calculate the reflected power 𝑃1 − and the transmitted power 𝑃2+ at the wall.
